(ECNS) -- As Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region celebrates the 70th anniversary of its founding in 2025, women's federations across the region have stepped up efforts to promote female participation in grassroots social governance, helping women play a central role in both community and family life.
Women's federations across Xinjiang have implemented the initiative to promote household harmony and foster positive family traditions. Official data shows that among nearly 620,000 participating households in the region, 208 families have received the national "Most Beautiful Family" honor.
Additionally, they have conducted 15,000 activities including thematic lectures on topics like "A harmonious family brings prosperity," benefiting over 400,000 women participants.
Xinjiang has rolled out a five-year family education plan and established a Family Development think tank under its regional women's federation. The initiative has led to full coverage of parenting schools across schools, villages and communities throughout the region.
The Family Education Guidance Center of the region, established at Xinjiang Normal University among other locations, and the public service platform "Xinjiang Online Parenting School" are working in concert to advance a collaborative education model involving families, schools, and communities.
A total of 2,024 family education guidance activities have been held, reaching more than 55,000 participants and helping strengthen women's role in modernizing grassroots social governance.
